After rearranging the darkroom, I came across a Stouffer 21-step step-tablet which I had forgotten about so I decided to scan it on the Epson V800 scanner and see just how much of a range it could produce.

I think that is quite good range for a scanner, would it be the same for the 850 pro, as I think they are identical.

Well, they are both dual-lens systems, the 850 does have more coating on the lens than the 800 that's the only difference from my understanding.

In theory, yes they should produce very similar results, the one thing to bear in mind is that each scanner is going to have its own tolerance values compared to the next one so we can't say that every VXXX is going to produce the same result.

I have just remembered I have a step wedge that came with my Analyser Pro, I should try that and see what my own scanner does.
