....OK so as some may know I'm expecting a new printer!
Soooooo about different ways to print our images...most people will use Photoshop/Lightroom. Some will use the expensive image print and some will use qimage.
I was watching an Epson video about the new p900 and there is a section about Epson Image Print Layout, https://www.epson.co.uk/apps-software/epson-print-layout
Would this new print layout be the same as image print and qimage?

Looks very interesting. I have an Epson P800 and use Q Image for printing which seems to be Ok for my needs

I use Epson Print Layout quiet a lot with the Epson R3880. Works very nice but the only thing to watch out for is you cannot change the Platen Gap size in the software

With certain fine art papers, sometimes the the print head can strike the paper as its going through which leaves black marks on the paper edge, usually this can happen if there is a slight curl to the paper and it doesn't take much.

To overcome this, you can widen the Platen gap so the distance between the print head and the platen it wider. When using the print dialog, there is an option to set this to Normal, Wide or Wider but in Epson Print Layout, I have yet to see where you can change it. What you have to do is set the Platen gap directly through the LCD menu of the printer but one usually forgets.

And then the next time you use it, it has reverted to default. Quite frustrating.

I use Qimage with an R3800, and find it to be excellent.
